MediumDifficulty
5 stepsSteps

Method

  1. 1 Simmer red beans until very soft, then stir-fry with sugar until it forms a thick, sticky paste, and let it cool.
  2. 2 Knead the flour with yeast, milk, eggs, and butter until the dough forms a thin membrane.
  3. 3 Let the dough rise for 1 hour until it doubles in size, then flatten it and divide it into individual balls.
  4. 4 Wrap the dough around the bean filling, seal the edges tightly, and let it rest for a second 30 minutes.
  5. 5 Brush with egg wash, gently press black sesame seeds in the center of the pastry, then bake at 180 degrees for 15 minutes.

With an appliance

  • Air fryer 1 hr 48 min

Replace step 5: spray the tray with oil, run the hot air boiler at 195 degrees for 10 minutes and rotate the tray after 5 minutes; the anpan will brown 5 minutes earlier, and only a few pieces should be placed sparsely in each batch.
