Beef and Pumpkin Porridge

What to get ready

• Rice 2.8 oz
• Beef 3.5 oz
• Pumpkin 5.6 oz

Method

1. 1 Simmer the rice in 250 ml of water over low heat for 30 minutes.
2. 2 Mince the beef very fine and loosen it in two spoonfuls of cold water before it goes anywhere near heat — that is what stops it seizing into pellets.
3. 3 Steam the pumpkin for 15 minutes and mash it.
4. 4 Stir the beef into the simmering porridge and keep stirring for 5 minutes, then fold the pumpkin through. Beef is the best iron there is at this age, when the store a baby was born with starts to run out.
