What to get ready

  • Photograph of Red bean Red bean 12.7 oz
  • Photograph of Sugar Sugar 5.6 oz
  • Photograph of Roasted soybean powder Roasted soybean powder 3.5 oz

Method

  1. 1 Simmer red beans with sugar until a thick paste is formed, then roll into balls and let cool completely.
  2. 2 Mix glutinous rice flour with sugar, salt, and water until you have a smooth, liquid mixture.
  3. 3 Steam for 20 minutes, stirring vigorously once in the middle to ensure the dough cooks evenly and becomes chewy.
  4. 4 Sprinkle roasted soybean flour onto the table, then pour the hot dough onto it, dividing it into portions while it's still warm.
  5. 5 Wrap the dough around the filling, seal the edges, and then roll it in roasted soybean flour.

With an appliance

  • Microwave 36 min

Replace step 3: rotate the bowl of glutinous rice flour at 700 W for 3 minutes, remove and stir vigorously at minutes 1 and 2; steps 4–5 remain unchanged.
