  • Photograph of Soy sauce Soy sauce ¼ cup
  • Photograph of Garlic Garlic 0.6 oz

  • Photograph of Roasted sesame seeds Roasted sesame seeds 0.3 oz

Method

  1. 1 Cut the tofu into 1 cm thick slices and pat them dry with paper towels to prevent oil splattering when frying.
  2. 2 Fry the tofu in oil over medium heat for 6 minutes, turning it over until both sides are lightly golden.
  3. 3 Mix soy sauce, Korean chili powder, minced garlic, sugar, and half a bowl of water to make braising sauce.
  4. 4 Pour the sauce over the beans in the pan, simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, occasionally basting the beans with the sauce.
  5. 5 Drizzle with sesame oil, sprinkle with chopped scallions and toasted sesame seeds, then arrange on a plate.

With an appliance

  • Air fryer 35 min

Replace step 2: lightly spray oil on both sides of the tofu and fry at 190 degrees for 10 minutes, flipping at the 5th minute; step 4 continues simmering in the pan so the spicy sauce soaks into the tofu.
