What to get ready

  • Photograph of Flour Flour 11.3 oz
  • Photograph of Chicken eggs Chicken eggs 12
  • Photograph of Sugar Sugar 3.5 oz
  • Photograph of Fresh milk Fresh milk 1 ⅓ cups
  • Photograph of Unsalted butter Unsalted butter 3.5 oz
  • Photograph of Baking powder Baking powder 0.4 oz
  • Photograph of Salt Salt 0.3 oz

Method

  1. 1 Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, milk, melted butter, and one egg together until you have a smooth batter.
  2. 2 Grease an oval-shaped mold with butter, then pour the batter in until it's half full.
  3. 3 Crack a whole egg into the center of each mold, keeping the yolk intact.
  4. 4 Sprinkle some salt and pepper on top of the egg.
  5. 5 Bake at 180 degrees for 18 minutes, or until the egg whites are cooked through but the yolks are still slightly soft.

With an appliance

  • Air fryer 35 min

Replace step 5: spray a thin layer of oil onto the sides of the mold, use a 195-degree hot air oven for 12 minutes, and rotate the tray at minute 6. The strong airflow shortens the time by about one-third compared to a conventional oven and browns the surface faster.
