What to get ready

  • Photograph of Flour Flour 1.3 lb
  • Photograph of Chicken eggs Chicken eggs 20
  • Photograph of Fresh milk Fresh milk 2 ⅓ cups
  • Photograph of Sugar Sugar 8.5 oz
  • Photograph of Unsalted butter Unsalted butter 7.1 oz
  • Photograph of Baking powder Baking powder 0.8 oz
  • Photograph of Cheddar cheese Cheddar cheese 5.6 oz
  • Photograph of Salt Salt 0.4 oz

Method

  1. 1 Mix the flour with one egg, milk, sugar, melted butter, and baking powder until smooth.
  2. 2 Pour the batter into the oval-shaped mold, filling it only halfway, then bake at 180 degrees for 8 minutes until the surface is firm.
  3. 3 Baking the base layer beforehand is mandatory; when you crack an egg into the liquid batter, the egg will sink to the bottom.
  4. 4 Crack a whole egg into the center of each mold, then sprinkle with salt and cheese.
  5. 5 Bake for another 12 minutes, or until the egg whites are set but the yolks are still soft.
  6. 6 Remove the cake from the mold immediately and eat it hot; if left to cool, the yolk will harden.

With an appliance

  • Air fryer 38 min

Alternate baking steps 2 and 5: grease the mold, preheat to 195 degrees for 5 minutes, then add the eggs and bake for 8 minutes, rotating the mold between each pass; the yolks soften faster, so divide into smaller batches.
