Method
- 1 Toast the flour in butter for 15 minutes over low heat until fragrant but not browned.
- 2 Heat sugar with water and lemon juice to 150 degrees, then pour onto a stone surface and spread with butter.
- 3 Fold and stretch the sugar block continuously as it cools until it turns opaque white.
- 4 Join the two ends of the block to form a circle, then sprinkle roasted flour in the middle and stretch it in half several times.
- 5 Each time the threads are doubled, the number of strands doubles, and it takes more than ten repetitions to make fine silk thread.
- 6 Cut the silk block into pieces, then roll them in powdered sugar and sprinkle with crushed pistachios.

Replace step 1: spread the flour and butter mixture in a sealed tray, bake at 150 degrees Celsius for 9 minutes, stirring at the 3rd and 6th minutes; the flour will become fragrant faster in 6 minutes, evenly colored without stirring. The steps of cooking the sugar, stretching the dough into rings, and folding the strands 2-6 times are still done by hand to make the candy into a thread.
