  • Photograph of Walnut Walnut 4.2 oz
  • Photograph of Red bean Red bean 11.3 oz
  • Photograph of Sugar Sugar 4.9 oz

Method

  1. 1 Mix the flour, baking powder, eggs, sugar, and milk together until a smooth batter is formed, then let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. 2 Simmer red beans with sugar until they form a thick paste, then let cool.
  3. 3 Roast the walnuts until fragrant, then break them into small pieces.
  4. 4 Heat a walnut-shaped mold, grease it with oil, and pour the batter to fill it halfway.
  5. 5 Place the walnut pieces and bean paste balls inside, coat with the remaining flour, and bake for 4 minutes on each side.

With an appliance

  • Air fryer 50 min

Replace step 5: spray oil into the walnut mold, close the mold, and bake in a 205-degree hot air oven for 6 minutes, flipping the mold after 3 minutes. The cake cooks evenly without needing to constantly monitor both sides, but the small oven only holds one mold at a time.
