What to get ready

  • Photograph of Sliced sandwich bread Sliced sandwich bread 12 slices
  • Photograph of Cheddar cheese Cheddar cheese 1.6 lb
  • Photograph of Lager beer Lager beer 1 ⅓ cups
  • Photograph of Ham Ham 11.3 oz
  • Photograph of Dijon mustard Dijon mustard 2.1 oz
  • Photograph of Chicken eggs Chicken eggs 4
  • Photograph of Potato Potato 1.6 lb
  • Photograph of Oil Oil 1 cups
  • Photograph of Black pepper Black pepper 0.4 oz

Method

  1. 1 Simmer the beer with Dijon mustard for 3 minutes, then add the Cheddar cheese and melt it over the lowest heat.
  2. 2 Do not let the beer boil when adding the cheese; boiling will cause the cheese to separate its oils and clump together.
  3. 3 Toast the bread slices until they are slightly dry, then arrange them on a heat-resistant tray along with the ham slices.
  4. 4 Pour the cheese and beer mixture over the bread and bake at 220 degrees for 10 minutes, or until the top is puffed up and browned.
  5. 5 Fry potato sticks and place a fried egg on top, sprinkle with pepper and serve hot.

With an appliance

  • Air fryer 35 min

Replace step 4: spray a thin layer of oil onto the sides of the mold, use a 235-degree hot air oven for 6 minutes, rotating the tray at minute 3. The strong airflow shortens the time by about one-third compared to a conventional oven and browns the surface faster.
